Jeanne A. Stiles, 70, of Coralville, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at Lantern Park Specialty Care.

A gathering for family and friends to remember and celebrate Jeanne's life will take place Friday, December 4th from 4-6 p.m. at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, with a memorial service beginning at 6 p.m. Memorials in her memory may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or the National Alliance of Mental Illness of Johnson County (NAMI).

Jeanne Ann Stiles was born November 3, 1945, in Staten Island, New York; daughter of Jesse H. and Lucille R. (Driscoll) Stiles. She earned her Bachelor's from Stony Brook University, and went on to obtain her Master's in Special Education from the University of Hawaii. While in Hawaii she enjoyed teaching, and later in her career, spent a majority of her time substituting where she could. Over the last 25 years, Iowa City had been home to Jeanne; prior to that she had resided in California and Hawaii.

She will be remembered as a very compassionate, caring and forgiving woman, who had a passion for local volunteer work and helping where ever there was a need. She had a strong love for music, especially her classic rock and enjoyed sharing her witty sense of humor with those around her. Even in her recent battle with breast cancer, Jeanne always had a concern for others; while at her chemo treatments, she would go out of her way to share her concern of those around her and do what she could to make their day a little better.

Jeanne's family includes her son, Jesse Ebersole and his wife, Michele of Hilo, HI; grandchildren, Jamie and Mari Ebersole; siblings, Jim Stiles (Marge) of E. Quogue, NY, Sean Stiles (Cathy) of Lake Grove, NY, Bradford Stiles (Tricia) of Iowa City, IA, David Stiles (Michelle) of Smithtown, NY and Patty Stiles (Wayne) of Vero Beach, FL, she will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and numerous extended family members as well as her dear friends, including, Mary Lou Lesser of Alexandria, VA, Donna Stiles of Honaunau, HI, Claudia Posphisal of Iowa City and the Goodwin family of Coralville.
