Edward A. Frees, 77, of Coralville, died Monday December 28, 2015 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City.
Edward Andrew Frees was born February 13, 1938, in Oxford, Iowa; son of Marvin and Pearl (Anderson) Frees. He served an enlistment in the United States Navy and returned to the Coralville/Iowa City area. He worked construction and was also a talented mechanic and when not working, enjoyed time fishing, playing cards and spending time outdoors.
His family includes his children, Terry Frees of Coralville, Iowa, Edward Frees Jr. of Wisconsin, Russell Frees of Des Moines, Kimberly Connair of Des Moines, Mechelle Jones of Lake Park, Georgia, close nephew Jim Frees, close niece, Peggy Slade and numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; son, David; brothers, Marvin and Robert Frees and his sister, Ellen Paintin.
A time of visitation will take place from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, January 2nd at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service - Oxford Chapel (132 E. Main Street) in Oxford.
