Tribute & Message From The Family
LeRoy Krogh was born in 1945, to Betty Mae Weekes Krogh and Gunnar Krogh. He died January 29, 2016, at home.
He graduated from City High School in 1963. He married Janice Rogan in 1968. They had two sons, Lee and Christian. He worked for the Iowa City Post Office for 42 years. He loved his job and his many regular customers.
His love for the outdoors inspired him to share his passion with his sons and friends. He loved going west on trail rides through the Black Hills and Monument Valley. He also loved fishing, camping and canoeing with his sons in his favorite place – Green River Lake, north of Pinedale, Wy. He loved to share his adventures.
In 1995, he realized his biggest dream when he bought an acreage outside of Lone Tree. Now he had a place to take his beloved horses. He built a barn for his horses, then a home for himself. Every year he looked forward to planting a large garden. He canned much of the produce and shared the rest. He also raised chickens. With the help of his family and friends, they planted hundreds of pine tree seedlings.
After his retirement in 2005, he started making log furniture, and continued turkey hunting and trout fishing as long as he could. Many times he would watch for deer, turkeys, and fox outside his windows. At night he would hear coyotes. He loved it.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his two sons; one brother, Gunnar Jr.; and one sister, Carolyn (Russ) Bickford, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Ann Suiter.
A Celebration of LeRoy's life will be held in May. When details for his are available, they can be found online at www.gayandciha.com

Chris and Family, I am so sorry to hear about LeRoy. He was such a good man, friend and coworker. He took me under his wing when I started working at the Post Office in 1985. He was always fun to work with. LeRoy was a great hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, gardener, baker, chicken caretaker and dog lover. Your father loved his family and always had such great stories to tell. May your memories of your father stay with you always and that you are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you and your family

When I started at the post office Leroy was a great trainer. He taught me so much including how to laugh at the job. His laugh and smile is what I remember most. He was a great man and he will be missed. Prayers for the family.

Chris & Lee,
I'm sorry for the loss of your father. He was a nice and caring man.
Though I do smile at the thought of him reuniting with my mom, Theresa Clifton, in heaven. I hope this brings you some comfort as well.
