Condolence & Memory Journal

I'm so sorry about Maynard. Even though I live right across the street, I had just come home and gotten sick, so I missed seeing this in the newspaper and just found out on the 24th from Alta Wagner. It was always a pleasure to see him as we came and went from our houses. This will be a difficult holiday season for you without him, and I'm sending caring thoughts to all of you, especially you, Laura.

TAKE CARE, DON MULL

I was sorry to hear of Maynard's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with him and the Poggenpohl family.

I will always remember Maynard as a kind, thoughtful and generous soul. He used to bring us Eggnog at Christmas and ice cream bars (Heath bars were my favorite!) when he worked at the dairy. He always made me feel welcome at their home when I was growing up. My childhood is full of fond memories of the times I spent with the Poggenpohl family. Frank carting us around to the fairs, Terry's constant shadow boxing, trapping and scuba diving with Mike, Dan helping on our home and growing up with Jim. And of course, the many visits in our kitchen with Laura when she came over to see mom.

Life Stories

In 1984 Jim and I lived with them and Maynard would never directly talk to me. I remember him asking Jim if " I wanted some popcorn" as I'm sitting in the kitchen with him. I find it cute now. What a great man.
