I am sorry to hear of Gloria's passing. Judy just called me. I have not seen your family in many years, but have thought of you often throughout the years. Anytime you are down Texas way again, look me up. Reyne S Foley 210-422-7533

AT 88 years, I am remembering the pretty little blonde girl that Gloria Smith was as she grew up in Huntsville. How I regret that through the years I lost touch with her completely. Her two sons, the Johnson boys, may want to read about the charming antics of her father, James Hansford smith, and of the highly successful Texas cattleman's career of her grandfather, John Winston Smith in the book THE ROUND-UP (see
That book, in addition to giving lots of information about the distinguished Smith Brothers Cattle Company, lays out the relation of the Johnsons and the Smiths in the family tree given at end of book.
In regretting the loss of one so obviously loved by her friends and family, I further regret my grievous loss so many decades ago of that relationship.

Gloria and I grew up together in Huntsville. We were friends from grammar school through high school. After graduation, I did not see her for many, many years. At one of our Mini-Reunions for our class of 1958, she was there, and
looked awesome. I did not recognize her at first. She was a special lady, and my condolences to all the family and friends.

Jim and family, I am so sorry for your loss of a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Words cannot express how sad and empty I felt when I got word of Gloria's passing. Spending every monday with her was the highlight of my week. She taught me so much. How special each day was and she was a true testament. Her infectious concern for others even on her worst day, was a genuine love she had. I feel so blessed to have been given the gift of knowing her. She had a heart of gold. Prayers for you all.
