I worked as a secretary in the University of Iowa Department of Surgery at the time Dr. Mezhir was hired, and we had occasion to work together from time to time. He once paid me the nicest compliment one could ask for when he said that someday, if he was lucky, he would have a secretary like me. I will never forget his kind words, or his tenacity with respect to his work. It was my pleasure and honor to know him.

So sorry to hear of Jamie's passing it seems like just yesterday I would see him and his brothers over my fence in deveaux, swimming in their pool. My daughters became good friends with him as the years passed and when I heard how successful he had become and the field he choose to devote his life to I said what a remarkable young man he had become and how proud his parents must be of him. Rest in peace Jamie and God bless your family during this trying time

May you enjoy your eternal reward with God in Heaven for your service to Him and all his children during your too short journey here on Earth. Rest in peace!

We are sorry for the loss of Dr. Mezhir. We send our sympathies to his family and to his community. He was the good doctor for our nephew who was battling cancer at the same time. He will be greatly missed.
